On Saturday, August 23, 2025 at The Jamaica Urban Transit Centre (JUTC) in Half Way Tree, Inspire to Empower a Change Foundation, in collaboration with Crisis Support Charity and JUTC, successfully hosted a Back-to-School Health Fair dedicated to supporting children with special needs and their families. The event provided a wide range of essential services to ensure children are fully prepared for the upcoming school year.
The health fair featured comprehensive medical assessments, school medicals, free back-to-school supplies, hair grooming services, and more—all at no cost to the families. The initiative aimed to not only prepare students academically but also to prioritize their health, confidence, and overall well-being.
“This partnership represents our shared commitment to giving every child an equal opportunity to thrive,” said Stephanie Josephs, Founder, representative of Inspire to Empower a Change Foundation. “By focusing on children with special needs, we are addressing an often-overlooked area, ensuring that families receive the care and support they deserve.”
The event saw a strong turnout, with dozens of families benefitting from the services provided. In addition to medical and grooming support, the children also received backpacks filled with school supplies to ease the financial burden many parents face during the back-to-school season.
Stephen Josephs, Co-Founder from Crisis Support Charity added, “This collaboration reflects the power of unity in action. Together, we were able to bring smiles, relief, and renewed hope to families navigating unique challenges.”
The Back-to-School Health Fair was made possible through the generosity of volunteers, healthcare professionals, and donors who share the vision of empowering children through compassion, care, and community support.
