Donor Direct Giving

As a non-profit organization, Crisis Support Charity depends on the generosity of individuals and corporate partners who believe in our mission and advocate for our cause. To honor that trust and ensure transparency, we are committed to the highest standards of accountability. We adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, submit audited financial statements, and provide material information to donors upon request. We also keep our supporters informed about our mission, ongoing needs, and how their contributions are being used to make a meaningful impact.

Donations

Donor contributions are categorized as either “restricted” or “unrestricted.” Donors have the option to designate their gifts in various ways to support specific causes or areas of need that matter most to them:

Unrestricted Funds

Unrestricted funds give Crisis Support Charity the flexibility to respond to the most urgent needs of our grantees and support the organization’s operational expenses. Proceeds from our fundraising activities are held as unrestricted funds, allowing us to allocate resources where they are needed most. These funds are primarily used to support ongoing initiatives in education, healthcare, and economic development within the communities we serve.

The Crisis Support Charity will not apply any administrative fee to unrestricted gifts.

Restricted Funds or Donor Direct Funds

Restricted funds are contributions made to Crisis Support Charity with specific instructions from the donor regarding their use. These funds may be designated for a particular purpose, area of interest, or directed to a specific qualified organization—such as a registered charity under the Jamaican Charities Act of 2013, or an accredited school or university. In line with our By-Laws, the Board of Directors reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decline any grant or financial support request, even if it aligns with a donor’s intended purpose. All grantees must provide regular reports demonstrating that the funds have been used as approved. The minimum donation amount for restricted funds is $1,000.00 USD.

Administrative Fee

Restricted funds received by Crisis Support Charity for a donor’s designated purpose will be subject to a 5% administrative fee.

The administrative fee charged by Crisis Support Charity (CSC) helps cover the costs associated with managing restricted funds. This includes services such as processing fund transfers, managing or investing funds where applicable, issuing tax receipts, ensuring the designated recipient receives the funds, and fulfilling annual reporting obligations.

Please note that this 5% administrative fee does not include any additional credit card or wire transfer fees incurred by CSC; these will be added separately to the total administrative charge. All applicable fees will be deducted upon receipt of the funds.

Restricted funds accompanied by instructions for full disbursement will be distributed within 30 days of CSC receiving the donation. In cases where no specific disbursement timeline is provided, the funds will be managed or invested in accordance with the donor’s instructions, or—if none are provided—under the guidance of the CSC Board.
