Crisis Support Charity and Burn Foundation of Jamaica officially launched in Kingston

As part of the launch of the Crisis Support Charity and Burn Foundation, a special donation ceremony was held, during which a cheque was presented to the Victoria Jubilee Hospital, demonstrating the foundation’s immediate impact on maternal and emergency care services in the country.

Kingston, Jamaica — The Crisis Support Charity and Burn Foundation of Jamaica was officially launched at the AC Marriott Hotel in Kingston over the weekend.

According to co-founders Stephen Josephs, OD, and Luke Josephs, the move signaled a major step forward in a mission to provide vital support to individuals in crisis, especially teenage mothers and burn victims across the island.

According to the co-founders, the event represents a significant milestone in their commitment to compassion and community service.

The brothers credit their deep-rooted values to their parents, Edward and Deloris Josephs.

Their father’s enduring mantra, “Service above self,” and their mother’s faith-filled reminder, “Your plans may be established by God,” continue to guide the foundation’s work.

Speaking at the launch, Director Luke Josephs shared the organization’s vision:

“At the Crisis Support Charity, our mission is clear and deeply rooted in compassion: transforming lives, restoring dignity, and promoting well-being in crises.

We are especially focused on helping teenage mothers reclaim their futures by re-integrating them into the education system and providing the emotional, social, and material support they need to thrive.

Teenage pregnancy can be overwhelming, often resulting in school dropout, social isolation, and reduced opportunities. Our support extends beyond academics—we empower these young women to rebuild their confidence, set goals, and pursue their dreams. Not in spite of being mothers, but as resilient individuals who have faced and overcome adversity.

Education is a right, not a privilege. Every young mother deserves a second chance.

With the support of Jamaicans at home and abroad—as well as the generosity of people around the world—we will continue this vital mission.”

The launch was attended by community leaders, representatives from major hospitals and universities, philanthropists, and other supporters who share a vision of restoring hope and fostering a more compassionate society.

In addition to supporting teenage mothers, the Foundation will also focus on burn victim rehabilitation, mental health outreach, and broader crisis response initiatives throughout Jamaica.
